First entry...

So I've never really blogged that much (I'm embarrassed to say that my last blog was on MySpace - when it was still cool). Yes, I do keep a diary...when I remember to write in it, that is. My point is I've never really seen the point in blogging. Why would people put something online for the whole world to read and critique? Hey, if people enjoy it then more power to them. It just seems like it would be difficult to put a piece of yourself out there for everyone to read.

I basically made this blog as a class requirement, but maybe I'll actually get something out of it other than a grade. I guess we'll see, won't we? Until next time, all.

Peace and love,

Caitlin

  1. Caitlyn -
I so understand the thought of blogging, how it seems maybe even too self-oriented to "broadcast" and expect people to be interested or to open ourselves to criticism.

But you've got a great point in your fine post above: maybe you'll get something out of it besides a grade. (Incidentally, you won't get a grade, per se, on your blog. This is part of an overall effort to write for my class and your posts will never be "graded," as in, "Wow, Caitlyn wrote clear, coherent, grammatically correct posts..."

That ain't how I works. (See the errors in the sentence. I like them and refuse to change them. They are deliberate.)

There's more to say, there's time to say it, there's a Monday before me during which I've got some things to do, NOT the least of which is battening down the hatches for my wife's departure to the beach with twenty-some-odd friends to "play bridge" (i.e. drink wine and dish their husbands).

    Thanks for getting underway!

    Malcolm
